Forest Heights Champions of the Environment
The Forest Heights Elementary Junior Scientist Club has been selected as a Champion of the Environment by DHEC (Department of Health and Environmental Control) for the My! What Big Feet You Have!: Reducing Our Environmental Footprint project. As a Champion of the Environment, the Eagles join other South Carolina students and teachers who have been awarded for their outstanding environmental efforts. The Champions’ Partnership promotes environmental stewardship and supports South Carolina’s youth as they work to educate their communities.
As one of five South Carolina schools selected in January (2008), Forest Heights will receive a $500 cash grant and publicity for the project. Publicity includes a news release about the project, a posting on the Champions Web site, and a TV commercial about the project that will air on WIS-TV, Columbia and WCSC-TV, Charleston.
Our Mission
The mission of Forest Heights Elementary is to develop a diverse family of learners in a rigorous academic environment, engaging students in the learning process while being supported by a collaborative community and a highly qualified staff.
Principal's Corner

Students: Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! I’m sure it is difficult to believe that is time for school to start. I’m very excited about the new school year and hope you are too. The teachers and staff of Forest Heights Elementary have been working very hard to make this the best school ever! Eagles get ready- we will Soar Towards Excellence.
Parents and Community: This is a very important time of year for Forest Heights. Our team of caring, dedicated teachers, instructional assistants, office staff, custodians and student nutrition workers has been working very hard to ensure that every child will have the opportunity to learn in the best environment possible.
We are setting the foundation of our students’ future as productive citizens of the 21st Century. Think about how much the job market has changed in the past ten years- the past twenty! Forest Heights Elementary school is committed to ensuring that our students have the life-skills needed to be successful in our ever changing world.
As I stated earlier, our team is hardworking and dedicated but we need your help. Please ask your child’s teacher how you can help your student be successful. Be visible at Forest Heights. Let your student see you talking positively with teachers, helping with read alouds, shelving books, helping to keep our campus beautiful or any one of the hundreds of ways that you could help Forest Heights become even better. I realize that everyone is busy but you would be amazed at how much could be achieved if every parent/guardian was helping in their own way just thirty (30) minutes every other month. Help Forest Heights Elementary Soar Towards Excellence.
